Z06 on the Outside and the Inside

There is little doubt these cars will be recognized as different from other C5s through two visual cues. First, like them or not, the 10-spoke wheels have a "tough guy" look all their own.

Secondly, the screened air intakes just behind the doors are unique. They are for rear brake cooling. GM claims they’ll lower rear brake temperature by 10% in competition driving situations. The downside of the rear brake cooling intakes is the moldings around them aren’t attractive on light-colored cars.

Other Z06 exterior items you have to look closer to see are: cool-looking, red, powder-coated brake calipers, specific front fender emblems (which ought to be more obvious, like ZR1 badging was) and functional, screened-over air inlets in the front fascia which improve air flow to the air filter assembly.
Inside, there are differences, too. If you dare, you can order special Z06 seats that are two-tone, red and black leather. You can add to your visual statement with special interior trim that adds red accents to the door and lower instrument panels.
The car’s IP cluster includes a 7500 rpm tach to compliment the LS6’s higher operating speed.
