REGISTRY MEMBERS RETURN TO EUROPE!

Le Mans, France

June 5-17, 2003

MERRITT ISLAND, FL – The C5 Registry has planned a fabulous trip to Le Mans, France this year!  Our 2003 route will be different from our previous Registry Le Mans tours!  We will begin our journey Thursday, June 5, in Antwerp, where we will pick up our C5s and head to the historic Nurburg Ring racetrack in Adenau, Germany.

ANTWERP, BELGIUM ADENAU, GERMANY

We will take Hot Laps around the historic 14-mile Nurburg Ring circuit that was built in 1927 and spend the night in Adenau.  From Adenau, we press on to Munich, Germany. This is Porsche country and some of them may want to come out and play along the way!

MUNICH, GERMANY

VERONA, ITALY

After spending the night in this romantic, Bavarian city, it’s off to Verona, Italy, a city famous for summer opera.  The Porsches have faded away, with "Red" Ferraris showing up to take their place on the fabulous Italian roads.  After a night in Verona, we head to the south of France and the French Riviera, spending two days in the picturesque city of Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat, France.

Our trip of a lifetime continues through the south France to Carcassonne, France, where the ZR1s stayed during their initial 1989 press tour.  This is where the famous ZR1 picture was taken in front of the Carcassonne wall.  Get your cameras ready because we will be snapping "re-takes" with YOUR C5!

SAINT-JEAN CAP FERRAT CARCASSONNE

From there we head to the Chateau de’Curzay for our traditional 2-night stay, which includes a poolside French barbeque.  We will also offer tours of the famous French castles throughout the region.

CHATEAU DE’ CURZAY

We arrive Friday, June 13, in Le Mans, France to lead the famous Parade de’ Pilotes through the streets of Le Mans in front of over 100,000 screaming fans!  After the Parade, we will join other Corvette Clubs of Europe for a traditional C5 Registry dinner.  Then it’s a good night’s sleep at the homes of our host families, who are graciously opening their homes to us for the weekend!  But the rest will be short because Saturday morning we will be up early getting ready for our Le Mans Parade laps!  We will have two laps (20 minutes) around the famous 8.4-mile race circuit just before the start of the famous 24 Hours du Le Mans!  We then retire to our seats, located above the C5-R Corvette Team’s pits to witness the most spectacular start of the race!

While racing continues, Saturday evening we will join the other European and British Corvette Clubs for a trackside barbeque, hosted by the French Corvette Club.  The race continues all night or you may choose to retire at the home of your host.  Sunday afternoon, we plan to join the Corvette C5R teams and C5 fans for a celebration of Corvette’s 3rd victory at Le Mans! After a night of celebration, we pack up Monday morning and head to Deauville, France for a seaside stay on the English Channel at Normandy.

PARADE DE’ PILOTES

HOT LAPS AROUND LE MANS! THE C5R

That afternoon we will pay our respects at the American Cemetery in Normandy, a touching way to end our European trip. Tuesday, it’s the French Autobahn to Antwerp, where we will drop off our C5s.  It’s then a bus to Brussels for our last night before departing at the nearby Brussels airport.

The C5 Registry's package will include the following: LeMans race tickets and hospitality for two people per Corvette at the track, all accommodations (EXCEPT the departing Brussels airport hotel), including breakfast each day, Transfers (buses, etc.) to and from the airport, Curzay Dinner (one night), Registry Dinner on Friday night at Change', France.

Members will be responsible for (not included in the package price): Shipping your C5 to and from Antwerp through overseas shipper Sea Expo (information to be provided), arranging for your own plane tickets to arrive in Brussels, Insurance for your C5 while in Europe (information will be provided), meals outside of breakfast and two Registry provided dinners.

FRENCH BBQ! OLD GLORY AT LE MANS!

Members who attended in the past will tell you that this is a very FUN DRIVING vacation and on some days you will drive for 4-6 hours per day at Autobahn speeds. Some of the hotels, the Chateau de Curzay (300+ year old castle), and host family homes will not have air-conditioning (it is traditionally cool in the evening during June). The Chateau de Curzay is located in the beautiful French countryside and is several hundred years old.  Elevators are NOT a part of the architecture. All 20 rooms are on the second and third floors.

The cost for the Registry's portion of the trip is $5900.00 per Corvette (if only one person were to go in their C5, the price would be the same) and includes the items listed above in the C5 Registry package information. This is based on the Euro dollar remaining at $0.95 to the US $1.00. If the US dollar continues to fall vs. the Euro dollar, some adjustments may be required. (01/13/03) Again, not included in this cost is airline transportation to and from Europe, shipping your Corvette to and from Europe, shipping insurance, taxes, fees and European driving insurance.  We will arrange for a shipping company and European driving insurance for you if you request, but the cost of these would be your responsibility.

We will be taking only 20 Corvettes with us, so space is VERY limited. We have begun the process of taking deposits ($3000 due immediately for a guaranteed reservation spot with balance due February 28).  Members who are really interested in attending please e-mail us at dan@c5registry.com with the subject line reading "Le Mans Hot List" or call us at the Registry office at 321-452-2743 between 11:30 am and 2:00 pm Monday thru Friday.  This is going to be a fabulous trip, FIRST-CLASS in EVERY WAY!

All the planning above is based on twenty Corvettes attending.  If we do not have the twenty Corvettes, we may have to cancel or modify the trip.  Those who sign up will be kept informed

LeMans Trip Sign-Up Information

If you are interested in going with the Registry to France, we will be allowing only 20 Corvettes with us, so space is VERY limited, and will be on a "FIRST COME and FIRST SERVED" basis. Your deposit will be time stamped when received at the Registry office, to ensure no confusion on the first twenty received. A call to our office telling us you are going to go is appreciated, BUT HAS NO BEARING ON THE DETERMINATION OF THE FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS LISTED ABOVE. Payment schedule is as follows: $3000.00 is due with reservation NOW! (checks only, NO credit cards), and the balance ($2900.00) is due on Friday, February 28th. Because we have to prepay all that is listed above, there will be no refunds! Members please understand, don't sign up if you don't plan to go. Once we receive your check, we will call and/or e-mail you informing you of your placement number. For those who choose to overnight their deposit, please make checks payable to:
